The ARC Broward Culinary Institute, a successful nonprofit social enterprise, is proud to announce that it has been included as part of a team of exciting food and beverage vendors in a new MERA Corporation proposal. This new business venture will operate concessions in two terminals at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
“Including a local nonprofit organization that uses food as a tool to transform lives of members of the local community is creative and impactful,” said Dennis Haas, President/CEO of ARC Broward. In addition to providing “grab and go” menu items to airport travelers, the ARC Broward Culinary Institute will also participate in other food preparation activities, and graduates will have new employment opportunities to explore.
Although the completion of this new venture depends on the approval of a Selection Committee and ultimately, Broward County Commissioners, simply being included in the MERA Corporation proposal has already opened many doors for ARC Broward Culinary Institute students. “The MERA Corporation owner and their team are genuinely committed to our involvement and the success of the project. They have treated us like dignitaries and have an amazing concept for the food concessions at these terminals,” said Haas.
