ARC Broward, a human services organization dedicated to providing services to children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual disABILITIES, is proud to announce the grand opening of the new location of its Electronics Recycling Services center. ARC Broward is hosting a grand opening event at the new warehouse located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. to commemorate Earth Day.
Due to the success of the social enterprise, ARC Broward Electronics Recycling Services outgrew its former space in Sunrise, Florida and moved to a larger warehouse in Fort Lauderdale to accommodate increased residential and business recycling activity. “This new facility is more centrally located, and will allow us to expand our services and process up to five times more electronic equipment.  We are extremely excited about what the future holds for this social enterprise and the employment opportunities it provides,” said Dennis Haas, President/CEO of ARC Broward.
The grand opening will highlight the success of ARC Broward Electronics Recycling Services and include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, music, refreshments courtesy of the ARC Broward Culinary Institute, and raffle prizes. ARC Broward Electronics Recycling Services employees will also give demonstrations on how electronics are taken apart properly for recycling. The enterprise’s highly skilled “Green Team” workforce includes adults with various disabilities.
ARC Broward Electronics Recycling services provides hassle-free business solutions including:  state-of-the-art data destruction, asset recovery, and environmentally responsible equipment disposal services for used equipment including computers, servers, networking, telecommunications, monitors, printers, and other IT-related equipment.
ARC Broward Electronics Recycling Services is funded in part by Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services. ARC Broward accepts electronics for e-recycling from large and small businesses in the tri-county region, Broward County residents and qualified government agencies at no charge. Residents must provide proof of residency such as a driver’s license, utility or tax bill.
The new ARC Broward Electronics Recycling Services warehouse is located at 3300 SW 13th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315.
