About This Event:


October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! To celebrate, ARC Broward is hosting an educational seminar to inform employers about disability employment opportunities and celebrate the numerous and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities. Join us in learning about how to make your workplaces welcoming to individuals of all talents, including people with disabilities, whom are a critical part of our efforts to build an inclusive community, strong economy and a diverse workforce.

Meet Our Keynote Speaker:

Margaret Spence - President/CEO of C. Douglas & Associates, Inc. and the Founder of The Employee to CEO Project.

Margaret is an expert business strategist and consultant to Fortune 500 Corporations. She is the author of three books on Injury and Disability Management and Leading from the CEO Desk. Margaret specializes in making organizations understand the potential to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. Inclusion means making every attempt to accept the contributions that American workers with disabilities make to your workforce.

She promotes: "Diversity, Empowerment, Inclusion, Opportunity, Mobility, and Success lies in the hands of leaders - your hands. There's still room to be a pioneer; we need men and women to champion disability inclusion."


Meet Our Job Seekers:

Part of the event includes an opportunity for employers to interview and meet several of our Center for Financial Stability job seekers. There will be several attending, including Brad and Wendy:

Brad is a recent graduate of our Culinary Arts Certificate program and is interested in obtaining work as a prep chef or food-service employee. He also would thrive working in a retail grocery environment. Brad is a leader in the kitchen and cares about the quality of work that he produces.





Wendy is a recent graduate of our Material Handler Certificate program and is interested in obtaining work on an assembly line. She would thrive working in a hands-on environment with an encouraging supervisor. Wendy was a leader in her class. She cares about the quality of work she produces and aims to please her employer. She would be an incredible asset to any organization/company willing to give her an opportunity to shine.
