Miss Arc Broward Pageant Cheer Squad Application

 

The Miss Arc Broward Pageant needs your help to cheer on our contestants. This is a great opportunity to support young women with disabilities and help them feel empowered and confident by creating posters and chanting their names from the crowd as they walk on stage and perform. Additionally, service hours will be given to participating squads. 

 

 


When: Sunday, November 11, 2018 3pm
Where: Historic Parker Playhouse 707 NE 8th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL  33304
Who: You and your besties!
Cost: $15.00 each, purchase tickets online at www.parkerplayhouse.org. Groups of 10 or more can receive a 20% discount by calling the Parker Playhouse at (954) 660-6307.
Attire: Cheer squads are also encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing coordinating t-shirts, team uniforms, or other accessories. 


Each cheer squad will be assigned one contestant from the pageant. You will be given a short biography about your contestant to help you design and create posters. 

In addition to the pageant winners, Miss Arc Broward will also present awards to the most spirited cheer squads.

1. How do I form a cheer squad?

Easy! Please fill out and submit the form below to register and purchase tickets to the Miss Arc Broward pageant here. Your cheer squad can be made up of friends, family, classmates or co-workers. Your squad will purchase tickets together, make signs for their contestant and cheer loudly! 

2. How many people do I need for my cheer squad?

Each squad should have a minimum of 5 members. 

3. Will my squad have an opportunity to meet our contestant?

Yes! You can meet your contestant at:

  • The Afternoon Tea presented by Stiles, hosted by Tanya L. Bower on Sunday, October 7, 2018. The Afternoon Tea Party is an additional fundraiser event that takes place prior to the pageant. Tickets are $30 each for Cheer Squad members. Please call Lenai Martinez at (954) 746-9400 to purchase your ticket. 
  • The Miss Arc Broward Pageant on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the lobby during the Autograph Signing Party. 

4. Are Community Service hours available for cheer squads? 

Each member of the squad can receive up to 6 community service hours. This includes the time organizing the squad, creating t-shirts and/posters, and attending the pageant. Please have each squad member check in on the day of the pageant. Community Service forms or requests can be submitted to Lenai Martinez at Lmartinez@arcbroward.com starting Monday, November 12, 2018. Service hours forms will not be signed on the day of the pageant. 

5. How does my squad purchase tickets? 

Tickets are available through TicketMaster. We encourage squads to purchase seats together so your contestant can easily find her squad in the crowd! Groups of 10 or more can receive a 20% discount by calling the Parkler Playhouse at (954) 660-6307. 

6. What is the process on Pageant day?

Each squad will check in at the Cheer Squad Headquarters outside Parker Playhouse and get their photo taken at the step and repeat. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the program begins at 3:00 p.m. Immediately following the pageant, your contestant will be available for autograph signing and photos.
