ARC Broward President/CEO Dennis Haas, Esq. has been nominated for the Non-Profit Leader of the Year Award which will be presented at the 3rd Annual PNC Bank Non-Profit Academy Awards presented by 2-1-1 Broward and hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino taking place on February 22, 2013. This prestigious award celebrates the hard work, dedication and achievements of Broward County’s local non-profit leaders.
“It is an honor to be nominated and recognized among the many non-profit leaders who have greatly improved our community,” said Haas.
For more than 16 years, Haas has been a devoted leader of ARC Broward, overseeing the vital services provided by the organization, along with its mission-based enterprises – ARC Broward Electronics Recycling, ARC Broward Culinary Institute and ARC Broward Learning Institute, and the new ARC Broward School of HIRE Education. His innovative and entrepreneurial approach to developing new funding sources to build a more self-sustaining organization makes Haas an exemplary nominee for this year’s Non-Profit Leader of the Year Award.
Prior to his appointment to CEO of ARC Broward, Haas served on the organization’s board of directors for 12 years. His commitment and passion to serving the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families has remained unwavering, and he has always had their best interest in mind through every organization decision.
The winners in each category will receive an Academy Award statue and $1,000 for each of their non-profit organizations. The other two finalists in each category will be awarded $500 each. All other non-profits nominated will be included in the Publix Community Choice Award, which will be decided by votes received from the community. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
