Our Mission
For the past 50 years, ARC Broward has been the
vehicle through which our community serves some of our most vulnerable children
and adults. It is estimated that 3% of the general population has autism,
mental retardation, Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy or another developmental
disability. The services needed by many of these individuals and their families
are crucial to their survival and, in many cases, to help them lead productive
lives.
Each year, ARC Broward provides services
to nearly 1,200 children and adults on whose behalf we express deep appreciation
for the overwhelming support that the 2006 VISTA Community Drivers Golf
Tournament has generated. We give special thanks to VISTA, our community
partner and health insurance company, Senator Skip Campbell, Representative
Susan Goldstein, and Candace Ericks for going above and beyond to help in
this effort.
