Dennis Haas, Esq. is President & CEO of ARC Broward, a nationally accredited not for profit organization serving individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities and those with various other challenges. Mr. Haas has a BA from the University of Florida and a juris doctorate from Nova Law Center. He began a career in the practice of law at a legal aid program in Broward County, Florida advocating for improved conditions in various healthcare institutions and for the rights of individuals with disabilities, among others. He also served as a local hearings officer and mediator over the years. After entering private practice, as a Shareholder in a large south Florida law firm he practiced in the areas of corporate healthcare, public finance and governmental relations for many years until forming his own firm with several colleagues. He has served as a member and in leadership positions of many non profit and community Boards including the Broward Health Planning Council, Broward Mental Health Board, Broward Community Development Advisory Board, Governor's Constituency for Children, Legal Aid Services, Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, Special Needs Advisory Committee/ Broward, Broward Chamber of Non Profit Organizations, and Workforce 1, among others. He has served on the ARC Broward Board of Directors since 1983. In 1996, he assumed the position of President/CEO of ARC Broward and continues to serve in that capacity. |
